  • The source is this 1986 NCRP review of science through 1982: researchers irradiated animals with increased RFR exposures until the animals became non-responsive. Many published, peer-reviewed scientific studies since 1982 have reported adverse bio-effects caused by RFR exposures far-below the FCC guideline (over 34 years).

  • In 1982, researchers measured the tissue temperature of the non-responsive test animals and made a few guestimates of what might protect humans from acute heating effects; no consideration was given to total cumulative RFR exposure over time. The guideline benefits the wireless industry; it does not protect people.

  • This 1986 review of science through 1982 is the basis for the fraudulent FCC RFR exposure guideline, a guideline (not a safety standard) that ignores what really matters: total RFR exposure over time. Many proven biological damages occur on the way to heating, therefore, continous RFR exposures are biologically disastrous and inappropriate for classrooms. We cannot trust the FCC to protect our children. We must protect them.

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is only a very crude guesstimate

  • SAR is based on average power, not peak power

  • SAR does not consider effects of the spikes in pulsed signals

  • SAR is based on heating of a gel in a plastic, adult-sized Standard Anthropomorphic Mannequin head — all current SAR ratings would fail if conducted on child-sized SAM heads

Why We Need to Look Beyond SAR

  • SAR is not a relevant measure: it provides an overly-simplistic model that does not model the complex operations of biologic organisms.

  • SAR is a misnomer: it is literally a "rate" of power delivery, averaged over a mass of tissue (kg). It does not calculate total power delivered over time. The very units of SAR evidence its nonsense.

  • SAR is unreliable: it is the many discrete, erratic spikes of power from wireless signals which affects our cells, not whether or not the spikes of power might heat up some gel in a SAM head.
